Our Adopt a School initiative is bringing eye care into the classroom - so every child from Year 1 to Year 12 gets the eye care they need.

The power of adopting a school

Poor vision can derail the life of a child – but in many cases, it is completely avoidable.

Current child eye health needs are falling short. For children with uncorrected vision impairment, simple joys become difficult – playing ball with friends is not an option and the blackboard can be a blur.  A simple eye exam and a pair of glasses can be all it takes to change the world of a child whose life is blurry.

We cannot remove all the barriers a child may face in getting a good education but we can remove at least one – if you struggle to see, you can struggle to learn – it is as simple as that!

Through the Adopt a School initiative, we are ensuring that each, and every child at a school will receive eye care services.  Our Children’s Vision has already reached 18 million children with eye care services, with your help we want to reach even more children.

Why Adopt a School?

When we consider that most vision impairment is preventable or treatable, and eye care is one of the simplest and most cost-effective health interventions there is, we have a HUGE opportunity. The Adopt a School initiative will see children, where it counts - at school.
